Locations In Ontario

Within Ontario, there are six prominent statues depicting Sir John A Macdonald. With the exception of the one on Parliament Hill, all of the statues have recently been subjected to vandalism and there has been public outcry for removal in social justice movements. This section explains the establishment of the statues and what has recently happened to them individually.

Prime Minister Path

  • Received several incidents of red paint being splashed onto it

Kingston

Hamilton Gore Park

  • Relocated in Gore park in 1907 after the fire accident in April 1905

  • Red paint poured and “land back” spray-painted across it 

  • No moves to have it changed or removed currently
